2012 Detroit Auto Show

The 2012 Detroit Auto Show is going on right now and I've been checking out some of the coverage from around the web.  For the most part it's been fairly uneventful in my opinion but there were a couple of models that caught my eye.

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo

Hyundai has been on a huge roll lately and they kept it going by revealing the upcoming Veloster Turbo.  Sporting a turbocharger 1.6L 4cyl making 201HP/194TQ, Hyundai's funky hatch should compete directly with the VW GTI and Honda Civic Si.  It will be available with a 6speed manual or automatic and will still get about 38mpg on the highway.

Acura NSX Concept

As a huge fan of the original NSX, I am very excited that Honda has once again committed to bring a new version of the legendary supercar to production.  After many years of starts and stops, they have revealed a new direction for the car which will use a mid mounted V6 engine along with an electric hybrid setup that may use an electric motor in a dual-clutch transmission along with electric motors at both front wheels for torque vectoring and AWD handling capabilities. No word on when the car may be ready for production but it looks promising.
